SEO is a way of increasing traffic to your website in an ‘organic’ manner. This can be done in a number of different ways, and once you understand what you need to do can cost nothing but the time you put in. Here are a few SEO pointers to help you on your way:

  • write for your audience (this is where a blog can prove very useful), by providing interesting information, you will naturally build on your interested audience
  • utilise existing forums (other sites your audience may visit) and make contributions to these, then gradually introduce people to your website
  • have relevant and up-to-date content and make use of smart keywords, meta-tags and descriptions
  • ask other similar businesses / groups to add a link to your website on their website, and reciprocate the gesture
  • make use of nonintrusive email campaigns, it helps your audience keep your business in mind
  • use a sitemap within your website (especially if you have a number of hidden pages) and make sure you submit your xml sitemap to google and bing
